Overview.
The purpose of the association is to promote the Institute for Law and Digitisation Trier (IRDT) at the University of Trier in the implementation of its objectives; furthermore, to promote research and teaching at the University of Trier on the legal fields relevant to digitisation and to deepen the relationship between science, practice and the interested public.
The Institute for Law and Digitisation Trier (IRDT) wants to actively participate in this process and set visible substantive accents in legal research on digitisation.
Our goals
The support of the IRDT in the context of science, teaching and research in financial and non-material respects, also by collecting and forwarding donations, in particular by covering travel expenses, costs for lecturers, scientific seminars as well as by financing the personnel and material equipment of the Institute;
- the acquisition or financing of media for the Institute’s library;
- the promotion of research and teaching projects in the IRDT’s field of activity;
- the promotion of academic exchange with Germany and abroad; and
- the promotion of talented students and doctoral candidates;
- the promotion of scientific research projects (basic research) and publications that are accessible to the general public, in particular by awarding scholarships
- and grants for printing costs as well as grants for open access publications.
Membership.
| (1) | The association is primarily financed by donations and annual membership fees. |
| (2) | Membership fees break down as follows: |
| a) Ordinary members: 50 Euro b) Reduced fee: for students, trainees and academic staff at universities: 15 euros c) Sustaining members: 200 Euros d) Sponsoring partners: 1500 Euro or more |

| (3) | Natural persons are free to choose the form of membership. The reduced fee shall automatically increase to the minimum rate for ordinary members after three years if no current proof of reduction is presented |
| (4) | Legal persons and associations of persons may only become supporting members and supporting partners. |
